FOUNDATION
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
OF THE FOUNDATION
The Vladimir Weisberg Foundation is a non-profit organisation created to preserve and promote the cultural legacy of the Russian artist Vladimir Grigorievich Weisberg (1924–1985). The foundation was launched in 2022 by the collector, businesswoman and publisher of The Art Newspaper Inna Bazhenova.
Having observed the constant and growing interest in Vladimir Weisberg’s work in the professional milieu, the organisers of the foundation are convinced of the necessity not simply to deepen and support interest within the art community but also to distribute it among broader circles of art lovers.
The foundation will promote the development of artistic education. A significant part of its work will involve cultural projects of a social-scientific and educational nature.
The foundation will undertake professional activities that aim to protect the legacy of Vladimir Weisberg from forgeries, including offering expert evaluation and attribution of works by the artist. The specialists with which the foundation works have years of experience with Weisberg’s legacy and their opinion is accepted on the Russian and international art markets.
The main aim of the foundation is to create a catalogue raisonné of those of Vladimir Weisberg’s works that are accessible.
