Complete Catalogue of the Works of Weisberg in the Collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts
The formal reason for publishing this catalogue was the exhibition Vladimir Weisberg. Nothing but Harmony, which took place at In artibus Foundation from January to July 2019. The exhibition was a joint initiative of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, which has the largest collection of works by Vladimir Weisberg in any Russian museum, and Inna Bazhenova, a collector who has the largest private collection of the artist’s works. More than 100 works from the museum and my private collection were exhibited at In artibus Foundation The organisers of the exhibition decided not to produce a catalogue, but to focus on creating a catalogue raisonné of the works of Vladimir Weisberg in the collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
The book is published in Russian and includes three sections: paintings, drawings and the legacy of Vladimir Weisberg. The last section features essays: Anna Chudetskaya’s ‘The Space of Light: Works by Vladimir Weisberg in the Department of Private Collections’, Oleg Antonov’s ‘Weisberg’s Drawings’, Elena Rudenko’s ‘Vladimir Weisberg in the Collection of Inna Bazhenova’ and Tatyana Dobrovinskaya-Vladimirova’s ‘Vladimir Weisberg’s School of Painting’.
